Music in the church
St David’s is proud of its pipe organ.
We do not have a church choir but the Ashprington & Tuckenhay Community Choir meets in the church every Thursday evening to rehearse for an hour from 7.30pm. The acoustic in the church is wonderful and when invited, some members of the choir are very happy to attend special services, weddings and funerals to enhance the worship and sing simple choral pieces. Our church organist, Liz Chandler leads the community choir in a relaxed and enjoyable way. The choir is open to everyone, those who have sung elsewhere and those who just enjoy the fellowship. The church is a favourite venue for visiting choirs – the Exeter Choral Society, the Ashburton Singers being the most recent. Choristers from Exeter Cathedral were due to perform in St David’s on the 16th May 2020 but due to the Corona Virus threat this has had to be cancelled.
